Our Story

Who We Are

Irish Oxygen Company Ltd, was founded in 1949, by Louis & Marcelle Constant.
The Constant family began producing oxygen for the steel & motor industries.
Today, the business is still in the Constant family - with Finbar Constant becoming managing director in 1985.

Irish Oxygen Company now also produces & distributes Industrial Gases, Medical Gases, Food Grade Gases & Mixtures as well as Ultra High Purity Gases & Calibration Mixtures. We are the only manufacturers of Acetylene in Ireland.

In 2016, Irish Oxygen Company entered a joint venture with SOL Group, to expand into the medical market and now supply many hospitals and medical facilities.

SOL Group is a well-established Italian family-owned company, in business since 1927, founded by Giovanni Annoni and Aldo Fumagalli.

SOL Group is now a multinational company, with over 5,700 employees, active in 32 different countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America.

Training can be delivered at our facility in Cork or on your site, depending on what works best for you.
